About REconnected
Building Stronger Communities Through Connection
Why REconnected exists:
For years, we were told success meant moving faster. Working harder, doing more, yet somehow we became more disconnected than ever from ourselves, from each other, and from our communities.
REconnected was born from a simple belief. That real wellbeing isn't something we achieve alone.
It grows around dinner tables, inside independent cafés, through shared stories, morning walks, acts of kindness, conversations with strangers who don't stay strangers for very long. What began as a community magazine has become something much bigger. A growing movement of people choosing to slow down, gather together and rebuild the villages we all quietly miss, because connection isn't a luxury. It's what makes us human.
Every Moment Has A Beginning
This Is Ours:
In 2020, our founder and editor, Ros, found herself searching for something she couldn't find. When life had been turned upside down, she longed for a place that brought together the people, places and support that could help her navigate a new chapter. Somewhere warm, somewhere hopeful, somewhere that reminded her she wasn't alone.
But that place didn't exist.
So she started creating it herself.
She filled notebooks with the names of local businesses, inspiring people, comforting quotes and hidden places that helped her take one small step at a time. What began as scribbled notes soon became pages of recommendations, stories and discoveries she wished someone had handed to her when she needed them most.
It wasn't long before another thought appeared. "If this helped me... perhaps it could help someone else too."
Those notebooks became a small community magazine for her local area. For a while, life became busy again. The magazine quietly took its place on a shelf, but it was never forgotten. People would often stop Ros to tell her how much they had loved it, or ask if it would ever return.
The idea had planted roots.
Five years later, REconnected was reborn. Not simply as a magazine, but as something much bigger. A place where stories inspire, where independent businesses are championed, where strangers become friends around a shared table, where community is rebuilt, one conversation at a time.
Today, REconnected is more than something you read. It's a growing community, a safe space, a cosy read on a quiet afternoon, a meaningful gathering around The Long Table, a reminder that you don't have to do life alone, a warm invitation to reconnect with yourself, with others and with the place you call home.
We're so grateful you've found your way here.
Pull up a chair.
You're always welcome.
What We Believe: Our Mission
Social Sustainability Starts Local
Most People think sustainability means solar panels and recycling bins. But there is another kind - social sustainability.
It’s about tackling loneliness before it becomes a crisis. It’s about keeping money circulating in local economies instead of disappearing into faceless corporations. It’s about building communities resilient enough to support each other through whatever comes next.
REconnected exists to strengthen the invisible infrastructure that holds neighbourhoods together, one story, one business, one connection at a time.
Tackling Loneliness & Isolation
We share stories that make people feel seen and remind them: you’re not alone here
Supporting Local Economic Resilience
We champion small businesses, because when you spend locally, that money stays local
Building Community Connection
We create spaces (physical and digital) where neighbours become friends and strangers become familiar
